Iowa Valley Jr - Sr High School Bulletin for Friday, April 19, 2024

Congratulations to Brooklyn Kilgard who won last night's golf meet with a 48.


PROM INFORMATION - Saturday, April 20th

Prom meal is 5:30-6:45 pm at American Legion Hall.

Grand March presentations begin at 7:30 pm in the auditorium. Students need to be here by 7pm in formal attire, enter through teacher parking lot doors, check in with Mrs. Hocamp, then meet in the MP room to get lined up. Individual pictures are taken after you walk through the Grand March. Senior group picture will be taken in the auditorium at 8:35 pm. Junior group photos will be taken at 8:45 pm.

Dance begins at 9 pm, students must be checked in by 9:30 PM. If you leave the building during the dance, you will NOT be allowed back into the dance. No outside drinks or food will be allowed. After prom activities are 11:30pm to 4am, doors lock at midnight. Students must check in at the main table by the gym. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for games. You must be present to win prizes and receive gifts at the end. If you leave early, you cannot return and parents will be called.


Don't forget to sign up for this week's Teacher Talk with Mrs. Born. Because of prom decorating we will meet in the gym on Friday.


SENIORS PHOTOS DUE BY THIS FRIDAY (4/19)!

Senior Picture - Email to Mrs. Pieper at epieper@ivcsd.org. These will be used for the yearbook as well as the newspaper graduation edition.

Baby Picture - Email to Mrs. Linnell at alinnell@ivcsd.org. This will be used for the slideshow that is played for your families during Class Night.

Funny Picture - Email to Mrs. Linnell at alinnell@ivcsd.org. This should be a goofy of picture of you from the last year or so.

Slideshow Pictures - Email to Mrs. Linnell at alinnell@ivcsd.org. These should be pictures of you and your fellow classmates from elementary and junior high. Think field trips, track and field day, dances, sports, etc. Any sort of picture that is fun to look back on!


All seniors will have CPR training on Thursday, May 9th at 8:30am in the wrestling room. Seniors are required to complete CPR training prior to graduation. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Thiessen.


High school students requesting a personal day form must have a parent/guardian contact the office to request 4 days in advance. 1 personal day is allowed each semester. No personal days will be granted in May. Students must be passing all classes with a C- or above at the time of request. Students on academic or conduct ineligibility list are not allowed a personal day. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED!


The last day to turn items into Mrs. Klosterboer for the SICL Art Show is Tuesday, April 23rd. See Mrs. Klosterboer if you have any questions.


REMINDER TO ALL JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS - 4th quarter weekly ineligibility starts on Monday. Eligibility will be determined on a weekly basis, starting after the completion of week 3 of each quarter. Students receiving 2 D’s or an F in the four core classes (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies)s at 10:00am on Monday will be deemed ineligible for any competition applying to that specific week. Students deemed ineligible are allowed to practice and attend home contests, but will not be allowed to be in uniform for games or travel on the bus to away contests. There will be no release of ineligibility during the middle of any week and no exceptions will be made.


SkillsUSA meeting will be on Tuesday, April 23rd at 7:30am.


ATTENTION ALL 8TH GRADE STUDENTS: There will be a question/answer session regarding the 9th grade registration process for all 8th grade students and parents on Wednesday, April 24th at 6:30 PM in the auditorium. We encourage all students and parents to attend this meeting to learn more about the registration process for the upcoming school year.


Compass Memorial Healthcare is offering sports physicals at the elementary school 9:00am-2:00pm on Friday, August 9th for $25.00. All proceeds are donated to Iowa Valley's athletic department. All participating students will receive a free t-shirt. Athletic physicals must be completed annually for students to participate in athletic events.


Calling all supporters of the Class of 2024! We are in need of donations to purchase banners to proudly hang around the city square. These banners will celebrate the achievements of our graduating class and create a memorable experience for all. Girls Golf @ Marengo Golf Course starts at 4:00pm.

Girls Track @ BGM starts at 4:30pm. Students dismissed at 2:50pm, vans leave at 3:00pm.
