Iowa Valley Jr - Sr High School Bulletin for Thursday, April 16, 2026
REMINDER TO ALL JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS -
3rd quarter weekly eligibility starts today. Eligibility is determined on a weekly basis, beginning after the completion of week 3 of each quarter. Students who have two D's or one F in English, Math, Science, or Social Studies at 10:00 AM on Monday will be deemed ineligible for competition that week.
Students who are ineligible may still practice and attend home contests but will not be allowed to wear their uniform for games, or travel on the bus to away games or contests.
There will be no mid-week release of ineligibility and no exceptions will be made.
The SICL Art Show is Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th in Keota. Students should bring anything they want displayed in the SICL art show to the art room by Wednesday, April 29th. Anything submitted must have been created in the 2025-2026 school year.
PROM INFORMATION for this Saturday
Prom meal will be held from 5:30 to 6:45 PM at the American Legion Hall. Grand March presentations will begin at 7:30 PM in the auditorium. Students should arrive between 6:45 and 7:00 PM in formal attire, enter through the teacher parking lot doors, check in with Mrs. Hocamp or Mrs. Wagner, and then report to the multipurpose room to line up. Individual pictures will be taken after you walk through Grand March in Mrs. Collins' classroom. The senior group photo will be taken in the auditorium at 8:40 PM, followed by the junior group photo at 8:50 PM. The dance will begin at 9:00 PM. All students must be checked in by 9:30 PM. If you leave the building during the dance, you will not be allowed to return. No outside food or drinks are permitted. After Prom activities will run from 11:30 PM to 3:00 AM. Doors will lock at midnight, so be sure to arrive before then. Students must check in at the main table by the gym. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for games. Remember, you must be present at the end to win prizes and receive gifts. If you leave early, you will not be allowed to return and parents will be contacted. Have a fun and safe Prom!
Save the Date - The Agriculture Department and FFA Program will be having their annual Award Banquet on Sunday, April 26 at 5:00 pm at the Iowa County Fairgrounds.
Iowa Valley's annual Community Service Day is coming up
on Friday, May 1st from 1:00 to 3:00 PM!
Our students and staff will be out helping the community with spring cleanup and outdoor projects. If you know someone who could use a helping hand, please contact Mr. Megchelsen. Examples of tasks include picking up litter or debris, painting (sheds, decks, etc.), pressure washing, raking, moving items to the curb or dumpster. Priority will be given to individuals who are elderly, disabled, or nonprofit organizations. Let's show our Tiger pride and make a difference! 💪

Boys and Girls Golf @ Colfax Country Club starts at 4:15pm. Students dismissed at 2:00, bus leaves at 2:15pm. Boys and Girls Track @ Benton starts at 4:30pm. Students dismissed at 2:48, bus leaves at 3:00pm.
